(2 children) And the subject itself is very interesting. Pick up the book if you don’t mind non-fiction (though it’s one of those non-fiction books that reads like fiction a la Devil in the White City). I wish we could get more Age of Sail movies. Master and Commander is one of my favorite movies, and the Aubrey/Maturin series is one of my favorite book series. Shame it didn’t do well enough to get any more of the series made into a movie. I know Russell Crowe has said on Twitter that he really wants to make a sequel. http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2fnjxu/first_look_at_chris_hemsworth_in_ron_howards/
You can do the very best you can when you’re very, very relaxed, no matter what it is or what your job is, the more relaxed you are the better you are … That’s sort of why I got into acting. I realized the more fun I had, the better I did it. And I thought, that’s a job I could be proud of … It’s changed my life learning that … http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2fm12s/bill_murray_shows_up_at_toronto_ghostbusters/

(0 children) The anime is the original, so I’d watch those, treat The End of Evangelion as part of the series, it will answer a couple of questions about the not a big spoiler . I haven’t read the manga, which is based on the anime, and the 1.11, 2.22, etc the new remake which deviates from the story and will consist of 4 movies, 3.33 is currently in preorder. I’d only recommend those if you liked the original, since they don’t really explain a lot, and are a bit wirder in some aspects (or maybe I just acclimatized myself with the original) (0 children) Definitely watch the original anime over the manga. The manga’s good, but the anime is one of the most influential anime of the last 2 decades. http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2fotmf/the_japanese_version_of_the_pacific_rim_poster/
“Forrest Gump” IMAX rerelease bombs hard on Friay with just $109,000 from 337 theaters. At an average of $18.50 per ticket, that means each theater had around 17 ticket sales total.
One night I was walking to a friends room across the hall, as I approach the window I overhear an extremely beautiful Danish girl say ‘Why is there a nigger at your window Tomas?’ … My friend, who was Nicaraguan, calmly remarks ‘Probably the same reason there’s a racist cunt sitting next to me’ … Not the most egalitarian response from Tomas, but I loved him for it … This ISN’T a slight on Denmark at all, I loved my time over there. It’s a lovely country and I still keep in frequent contact with several people I met there. TL;DR We like to think of Europe as a bastion of tolerance and progress, and to some extent that’s true, however racism, bigotry et. http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2fn7mg/americans_will_not_accept_films_with_subtitles/

(1 child) Real IMAX theaters are the ones that show the 70mm film, which provides a much bigger picture and higher resolution than standard film. “lieMAX” is Digital IMAX, which many theaters now use. The projectors use a digital version of the 70mm film which has been converted into 2k resolution. The main problem is that most theaters still project these converted digital movies onto normal size screens, and also that many non-IMAX projectors already use 2k or even 4k resolutions, but those theaters still charge a premium price despite the drastic difference in quality. Check out the list of IMAX venues at Wikipedia here , and look for the ones that say “15/70mm” next to them. Those are the real IMAX. http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/2fntt4/forrest_gump_imax_rerelease_bombs_hard_on_friay/
